Organ Vespers in the Monastery Church
In 1754, an organ built by Balthasar Freiwiß was consecrated in the abbey church of the Benedictine monastery in Irsee. Today, this instrument is seen as an impressive historic monument which survived the secularization movement and is in excellent shape after its restoration in 1990.
Since 1993, the Irsee Swabian Academy has been organising concerts on this exceptionally historic organ under the artistic direction of Roland Götz. Götz is an internationally known specialist for historic organ literature.
